Fairfax, Virginia is located at the geographic center of Fairfax County, Virginia, the most populous county in both Virginia and the Washington Metropolitan Area. There are several major commuter arteries, including Lee Highway, Route 50, I-66, and the Fairfax County Parkway. The easternmost part of the area is about four miles west of the Vienna Metro.
