We’re always here to help with repairs, but there are a few minor issues that can often be resolved quickly and safely on your own—no tools or maintenance ticket needed.

Here are some common household issues and simple things you can try before reaching out:

1. Outlets Not Working?

Try This:

  • Check for a GFCI outlet (usually in bathrooms and kitchens) that may have tripped.
  • Press the reset button on the outlet to restore power.
  • Also check your breaker panel to see if any switches are flipped.

2. No Power in Part of the Unit?

Try This:

  • Open your breaker box and look for any switches that are out of line or halfway flipped.
  • Firmly switch them all the way off, then back on.

3. Clogged or Slow Drain?

Try This:

  • Use a plunger for sinks or tubs to help dislodge small clogs.
  • For hair clogs, a simple drain snake or zip tool can work wonders.
  • Avoid chemical drain cleaners, as they can damage pipes.

4. Toilet Running or Not Flushing Properly?

Try This:

  • Check the chain inside the tank—it may be disconnected or tangled.
  • Adjust the flapper so it seals properly.
  • If the water keeps running, gently wiggle the handle or check the float.

5. Air Filter Dirty or HVAC Not Cooling/Heating Well?

Try This:

  • Replace your HVAC air filter—it should be changed every two months.
  • A clogged filter can reduce airflow and affect temperature control.

6. Light Bulbs Out?

Try This:

  • Make sure the bulb is securely screwed in.
  • Try a known working bulb to test the socket.
  • If multiple lights in the same area are out, check your breaker box.

7. Smoke Detector Chirping?

Try This:

  • It probably needs a new battery.
  • Carefully open the cover, replace the battery, and test the unit.
